Global Perspective : Study Abroad : Full-Time Exchange Programs for Incoming Students

As an exchange student studying at Eller, you have considerable freedom in developing your own plan of study for the semester.
Field Projects
All students are encouraged to participate in the Field Projects course and apply acquired classroom skills in a real-world business setting. You will collaborate on scoping, planning, and execution of a project for an organization with support from MBA staff and faculty.
Electives
In consultation with academic advisors at your home institution and at Eller, you may also choose two or more courses from a variety of electives in entrepreneurship, finance, management and organizations, management information systems, and marketing.
Admission Requirements
- You must be in good academic standing at our exchange partner institutions
- TOEFL score of 600 (paper-based version) or 250 (computer-based version)
- Telephone interview after receipt of application packet
- Letter of recommendation from the student's academic program
Language Requirements
All Eller College courses are taught in English.
Application Deadlines
- Fall admission: March 1
- Spring admission: October 1
The Eller MBA program, its partner institutions, and the UA Office of Study Abroad and Student Exchange (SASE) collaborate closely to provide information to prospective exchange students and to make the exchange experience as smooth and convenient as possible.
To begin the exchange process, apply online through SASE. SASE will collaborate with admissions staff at the UA Graduate College and the Eller MBA program to expedite your application.
Once granted admission, you will receive detailed pre-arrival information to help you prepare for your visit.
Orientation
Soon after your arrival in Tucson, you will attend a two-part orientation:
- An introduction to campus life and the surrounding community, presented by SASE
- A special Eller MBA event, where you will meet fellow MBA students, faculty, and staff and learn more about the Eller College of Management and its resources
Costs
You pay the normal tuition of your home institution.
Insurance
You must purchase health insurance through the University of Arizona Campus Health Service. Rates are $448 for the Fall semester, and $683 for Spring.
Visas
Once you are admitted, the UA Graduate College will send forms and instructions to apply for your J-1 Exchange Student visa at the nearest U.S. Consulate or Embassy.
Immunization
You must provide proof of vaccination for measles and rubella after 1980. Admission packets contain instructions. View more information.
Housing
If you are arriving in August for Fall admission, you can use short-term campus housing, August 9 through 14. No on-campus housing is available for January arrivals.
The University does not coordinate or provide housing for exchange students, but reasonably priced housing is generally available near campus.
Housing information is available from the UA's Off-Campus Online and the International Student Programs and Services (ISPS) website.
Fees & Expenses
You will receive a waiver from The University of Arizona for tuition and registration costs. You should budget at least U.S. $13,000 per year (about half of that for one semester) to cover room and board, books and supplies, health insurance ($683), the SASE orientation fee ($75), a student identification card ($25), a $20 fee applicable to all international students, and miscellaneous personal expenses.
More information on expense is available on the ISPS website.
