Admissions

What is the application deadline for the Eller Evening MBA?

Applications received by July 15 receive priority consideration. All applications must be received by November 1.

What types of students are admitted into the Evening MBA program?

The Eller Evening MBA accepts students from a broad range of professional backgrounds: corporate managers, entrepreneurs, physicians, engineers, public sector employees, people working in nonprofit organizations, and more.

These students have 3+ years of professional experience and a desire to move their career forward with the knowledge and polish they develop through the pursuit of an MBA.

How does the Eller application process work?

Applicants complete an online application form and two essays while procuring 2 letters of recommendation, 2 sets of official transcripts, and official GMAT scores. They also pay a $100 application fee. The Admissions Committee will review completed application packets and identify viable candidates for an interview — preferably in-person, but alternately by phone. The Admissions Process includes details.

When will I know if I've been accepted into the program?

We admit students on a rolling basis following review of application materials and an interview. Typically, a final decision is issued a month after the application is complete and all supporting materials have been received. If accepted, you will be given a time frame in which to make your decision and submit a non-refundable $500 enrollment fee to confirm your spot in the class.

Features and Benefits

Is this the same as a regular MBA program?

The degree you earn will be a fully accredited Master of Business Administration. However, the curriculum structure is different from the regular Eller MBA and most MBA programs. Also, because this is an accelerated program, some of the more basic elements of MBA knowledge are covered at a quicker pace.

How much will I be in class?

For most of the program, classes meet once weekly , from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. with dinner and a break. The program begins with a 4-day session on Leadership, and there is a 5-day module in the middle of the program, as well as a 10-day international trip. The program lasts 18 months as opposed to the 24 months required by a traditional MBA.

Where are classes held?

The classes are held in Phoenix at the Eller College of Management Scottsdale campus and in Tucson at McClelland Hall on The University of Arizona's main campus.

What distinguishes the Eller Evening MBA from other programs?

  • Our curriculum is dynamic and maximizes return on investment for working professionals
  • All participants are successful and motivated professionals with 3+ years of professional experience
  • Our faculty and staff, along with enthusiastic participants, create a supportive, productive learning environment
